The Energy Miser Concept Home

PD&D TV Host Louise Rainone steps inside the NEXTGEN Home Experience at CES 2012 with Steve Ducharme for a demonstration on how homeowners can significantly cut energy use when retrofitting a house.

Lower energy bills while making the house more comfortable, quieter, and safer? Hard to see a problem with that proposition.

The home model includes:

  • Savant’s Apple-based home control and automation system.
  • An electric vehicle charging station from Leviton.
  • A new Carrier thermostat controller with Wi-Fi accessibility.
  • Leviton’s connected home network infrastructure system.
  • ICYNENE insulation, a spray foam insulation that will reduce energy bills by 20%.
  • Much more.
