The Statement that the Martin Aircraft Company’s jetpack has 2 rockets driven by a 2-liter, 200-horsepower engine is incorrect and misleading. Unlike a true jetpack it does not use any rockets of any sort to make thrust. It utilizes a 200hp gasoline engine that drives 2 large ducted fans that blow air downward. Unlike a helicopter rotors that provides actual lift, the Martin Jetpack operates more like a hovercraft riding on 2 columns of downward forced air. If you listen carefully to their promotion, it has a "theoretical" 8000ft. ceiling. However, since it was introduced 2yrs. ago and in all their videos from then to now, it never gets any higher that 5 feet! Why? They say "safety reasons" I have my doubts about that excuse as well as their "theoretical altitude claims".
