  • Most of the gains are likely to come from the materials sciences just as they have for the transportation industries with improved performance and durability. In any case one should look to what the Germans have done as they appear to be at least 10 years ahead of the USA when it comes to implementing the use of renewable energy on the ground. That is where the French are hindered by their governments reliance on and large investment in nuclear power, much as is still the situation in the US with the subsidies for nuclear, oil, and gas still very much driving government policy, programs, and funding.
