Usb Port Protection

The CeraDiode CDA6 array series has been developed with multi-layer ceramic technology for the ESD protection of two USB 2.0 ports. In addition to protecting two or four data lines, the product has the ability to shield the supply voltage against overvoltages, and according to the company, offer a better thermal response than semiconductor-based designs. The 1012 package, as well as the pad configuration, are designed in order to replace more expensive SOT23-6L diode solutions without the need to redesign the circuit board. Furthermore, this array features operating voltages up to 5.6 VDC, a low response time of less than 0.5 nsec, a low parasitic capacitance of only 5 pF (typical) and the absence of significant signal distortion or attenuation, occuring even at high data rates.
