Transmissive Switch For Non-contact Use

The QVE00033 transmissive switch has a small size, a surface-mount package, and the performance to make it suitable for non-contact switching applications in disk drives, card detectors, mice and trackballs, and motors and motion controllers. In addition, the use of optical non-contact switching technology is designed to make the unit reliable, less expensive, and power efficient in many applications.

The switch comes in a temperature-resistant black plastic housing with a 7.5- x 4.05-mm footprint. The GaAs LED faces a silicon phototransistor across a 2-mm gap with a 0.4-mm aperture. The peak transmission wavelength is infrared at 940 nm.
