Toolholding System (12669)

Using a toolholder and collet, the powRgrip PG 32 toolholding system is built to provide clamping forces higher than shrink-fit holders. Engineers can use the PG 32 to clamp tool shanks up to 25 mm (1 in.) in size. The system, which is well suited for high-speed machining applications, offers a wide taper selection, including CAT, BT, HSK, and TC versions. Like all powRgrip toolholders, PG 32 is balanced in design to enhance part quality and surface finish and help reduce manufacturing costs. PG 32 includes a holder, collet, and lightweight mini-press that generates nine tons of force. The system relies on the interference between holder and collet to generate its clamping force, rather than using heat or hydraulics to expand the material. The gripping force of the system offers a run-out below 0.0001 in. Because no heat is used, tools can be used immediately after a tool change. Engineers can choose sizes ranging from 2 to 25 mm (1/8 to 1 in.).
