Shock Absorbers

The SC2 Heavyweight II Series of miniature shock absorbers consists of the SC2 300 and SC2 650 models, which were designed to deliver up to 950 percent of the effective weight capacity and 280 percent of the energy per cycle capability of standard models.

The design combines the piston and inner tube into a single component called the piston tube, which acts as both the pressure-creating and pressure-controlling device. Engineers incorporated a bladder-type accumulator designed for cleaner internal operation. The piston rod diameter was reportedly increased, as well. In combination, these features are intended to allow for higher energy per cycle rates and a full effective weight range for a range of applications, along with increase side-load capability and longer life.

The product is described as offering soft contact deceleration where initial impact reaction forces are very low with the advantages of self-compensation to cope with changing input energy conditions without adjustment.

Applications consist of rotary actuators, rodless cylinders, conveyors, pick-and-place operations, and slides.
