Phoenix Contact’s (Middletown, PA) two new mini plug connectors reduce connection time and allow for true surface-mount processing. The PTPM and PTSM, designed for use in LED connections, measure just 5 mm high and are rated up to 5 A. Additional specifications include:

PTSM

  • PUSH-IN termination, which allows customers to quickly terminate wires.
  • 2.5 mm centerline and 5.0 mm height that saves space on the board.
  • THR and SMD headers, which provide cost savings when using SMT process.
  • Horizontal and vertical headers that allow flexibility in design with multiple connection directions.
  • Robust SMD anchors that hold the PTSM firmly against the board. 

PTPM

  • Insulation piercing contact helps save up to 80 percent of connection time.
  • 2.5 mm centerline and 5.0 mm height that saves space on the board.
  • Tool-less connection helps make this product suitable for almost any installer.
  • Capability to transmit CAT 5, providing greater options for data applications.
  • THR and SMD headers, which provide cost savings when using SMT process
