Pre-parameterized Motion System

The CMS Cartesian Motion System now includes IndraMotion for Handling. This new combination CMS is designed to eliminate the learning curve that can be associated with programming and commissioning point-to-point and assembly applications. The CMS with IndraMotion incorporates the manufacturer’s L-40 and L-20 PLC-based motion controller and the VCP 08.2 HMI controller interface. This interface is said to provide intuitive and simple controls for Cartesian gantries with up to three linear axes (X, Y, and Z) and three rotary axes (A, B, and C). The system includes all necessary hardware and software, with predefined motion function blocks to run pick-and-place and loading/unloading machinery. It is well suited for use in assembly cells, transfer stations, and packaging and other handling applications. In addition to compact modules, the ready-to-install CMS system features mounting brackets, servomotors, controllers, cables, and cable management components with a variety of communication interfaces. Comprising up to three axes, the CMS is designed for payloads up to 25 kg, speeds up to 1.0 m/sec, and acceleration rates up to 15 m/sec2. Depending on the chosen axis combination and size, the motion system can deliver strokes up to 1,000 mm in the X-axis, 700 mm in the Y-axis, and 800 mm in the Z-axis. Because the system is pre-parameterized, it is ready to “plug and play” into an engineer’s application. The system is available completely pre-assembled or as a ready-to-assemble kit.
