Pmc Modules For Serial Communication Boards

The PMC520 and PMC521 provide eight asynchronous serial communication ports from a single PMC carrier slot. They are designed to reduce the cost per serial port and keep card slot usage to a minimum. Both models are available with front or rear I/O connections for more convenient cable access. Prices start at $475 for standard models. A variety of features are included to improve system performance and simplify implementation. Each serial port is equipped with large 64-byte transmit and receive FIFO buffers that minimize CPU interaction for more efficient data processing. User-friendly software helps users quickly set baud rates, character sizes, stop bits, and parity. The baud rate is programmable with data rates up to 250 Kbps.
