Requiring no screws or tools for installation, the Snap-Joiner fastener can be snapped into place on a metal panel with a rectangular opening by hand. D-Snap technology is at the core of the Snap-Joiner fastener. The D-Snap housing consists of a spring-loaded set of wings, which are built to snap into position and hold firmly in a panel. Able to withstand severe vibration, the Snap-Joiner fastener can be used wherever two sheet metal panels need to be joined. Applications include trays in 19-in. server racks, exhibit panels, and modular office furniture. The device can serve as an alternative to standard or captive screws. When incorporated into a handle, the Snap-Joiner allows the user to position the handle in place on a panel with prepared cutout and press into position. No other parts or tools are required. Shipped as a complete assembly, the Snap-Joiner fastener can be removed to allow for replacement and maintenance of associated areas, if required. Engineers can use a tool to retract the Snap-Joiner, allowing the hardware to slide out from the panel opening. Upon request, the device can be manufactured to remain captive in one panel or removed from both panels. It can also be modified so the fastener can be removed from inside or outside the joined panels and for different sizes and handle thicknesses. Engineers can choose from a variety of removal tool options.
