Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI), a global leader in high-performance semiconductors for signal-processing applications, expanded its clock-product portfolio today with the launch of the AD9552 oscillator frequency upconverter, which replaces larger, expensive, high-frequency VCOs (voltage-controlled oscillators). Additional details:
- Provides ultra-low jitter of under 0.5 ps (picoseconds).
- Operates with input frequencies in the range of 50 – 80 MHz.
- The device can generate output frequencies up to 900 MHz for a variety of applications, such as HDTV, data acquisition, wireless base stations, test and measurement, networking and telecommunications.
- Power consumption of less than 400 mW.
- Compact 5 mm x 5 mm package size.
- Employs a Σ-Δ (sigma-delta) modulator to accomplish fractional frequency synthesis.
- User programmable custom input-to-output frequency ratios.
