Optical Commutation Encoder

The RCML15 is a compact optical encoder that combines brushless motor commutation pulses and incremental position feedback in a low-profile (0.35 in. height) package for applications where space is critical. Its LED and sensor arrangement is designed to reduce cost while improving performance and reliability of the brushless motor/encoder package. Encoder frequency response reaches 300 KHz.

The unit's design allows 䔸 degrees rotation of the encoder to align the commutation tracks with the motor poles. It also features a patented slide/gap mechanism for ease of installation.

The RCML15 is available in resolutions up to 2,048 lines and provides commutation for 4-, 6-, or 8-pole brushless motors.
