Miniature Incremental Encoder

With an external diameter of 50 mm, the DKS 40 incremental encoder offers IP64 protection and a robust design. The device is able to resist high levels of shock and vibration and well suited for applications with limited space. These applications include machine tools, textile machines, wood processing machines, and packaging machines. Based on Mini-Disc (MiDi) technology, the DKS 40 features a small code disc with a track radius of 2 mm. The disc permits integral, full scanning of the entire code disc — preventing eccentricity errors of the code disc, ball bearings, and shaft. Engineers can choose from open collector NPN, TTL/RS 422, and HTL/push-pull interfaces. Face-mount flange with 8 x 13 mm solid shaft and a 0.5 m output cable that can be used radially or axially are also available.
