Machinable Alumino-silicate Ceramic

Aremcolox 502-110-UF machinable alumino-silicate ceramic is formulated to produce high-temperature brazing fixtures for applications up to 2,100°F.

The ceramic is also suitable for producing a wide variety of industrial parts such as electrical and thermal insulators, burner and combustion nozzles, and welding shields. Mechanical, electrical, and thermal properties include a compressive strength of 25 kpsi, dielectric strength of 100 V/mil, and thermal conductivity of 9 Btu-in./hr-ft2-°F. With a coefficient of thermal expansion of 2.5 in./in./°F x 10-6, the product is suitable for use in thermal shock applications. It can also be used in oxidizing, reducing, or vacuum atmospheres and it doesn't outgas in ultra-high vacuum or react with most molten metals, salts, or acids. Easily machined with conventional tooling, it is fully dense and resistant to 2,100F temperatures after a simple firing procedure. Stock sizes include 1/4-1 in. thickness, with 1/4-7 in.-diameter rods and 1 x 1 in. to 4 x 4 in. bars. Custom-fabricated prints are also available.
