Liquid Level Float Switches

These liquid level float switches are designed as low-cost alternatives for chemical processing, petrochemical, food and beverage, and marine applications. The compact, rugged, top or side mounting devices can be installed in very small spaces. Plastic and metal models withstand harsh chemicals and are unaffected by electrical interference, high temperatures and pressures.

Both top and side mounting devices have a magnet in the float that interacts with a reed switch. The magnetic field causes the reed switch contacts to close, completing the electrical circuit. This normally open switch operation is standard. With a few exceptions, the float position can be reversed to allow for normally closed operation.

The family of liquid level float switches includes horizontal devices with a pivoting arm float and a variety of vertically oriented devices with a cylindrical float. Most switches handle a maximum switching voltage of 240 Vac/200 Vdc. Prices range from $12 to $138 per unit.
