Lenses Shy Away From Reflections

New versions of ball and drum lenses are designed with an anti-reflective coating for the Near-IR 600-1,050 nm range. These new lenses have a uniform coating with no uncoated band, and complement uncoated and Telecom-NIR AR coated units. They are suitable for fiber telecommunications applications given their high rate of transmission and minimal insertion loss. The drum lenses have a length tolerance of ۭµm and a diameter tolerance of +0/-50µm. Also available are BK7 ball lenses with an index of refraction of 1.517 and a 40-40 surface quality. These lenses are suitable for focusing light into fibers. In addition, high index ball lenses are available with an index of refraction of 1.85 and a diameter tolerance of +0/-3µm. These lenses provide a high index for applications where closer focal distance is required.
