Industrial Thermistor

The SMD PTC Series has been extended to include units designed for overcurrent protection and with the new PTC chip for maximum voltages up to 265 V. The unit complements the series of the same type that was previously restricted to maximum voltages of 80 V. With a 1210 package, this PTC can handle rated currents up to 15 mA. This current represents the thermistor’s limiting point. Higher rated currents can be achieved by parallel connection of several PTC thermistors. The new PTC is suitable for primary-side applications, as well as secondary-side over-current protection in the event of accidental contact with a power line. Price is 36 cents each in quantities of 2,000.
