The FM1062 features programmable Digital IF Processing compatible with standard downstream digital demodulators and system-on-chips.



Fresco Microchip Inc. (Toronto) has announced that Huizhou TCL King High Frequency Electronics Co. Ltd (TCL Tuner) has selected the FM1062 analog demodulator for its new tuner designs targeted for 2011 production. The FM1062 is a single-chip, multi-standard analog demodulator and digital IF processor optimized for television markets in the Americas, Korea, Taiwan, and Japan where strong demand for hybrid (analog plus digital) terrestrial and cable television continues to grow. Features include:

  • Superior multi-standard analog demodulation performance.
    • Optimized picture quality.
      • Leading adjacent channel rejection.
      • Extended smearing and ringing reduction.
    • High linearity, excellent SNR.
    • 6 MHz channel bandwidth.
  • Programmable Digital IF Processing compatible with standard downstream digital demodulators and system-on-chips (SOCs).
  • Lowest Bill of Materials.
    • No external Analog/Digital IF SAW Filters or VGAs required.
    • Direct interface to DTV Cable or Terrestrial Demodulation ICs.
    • Fully compatible with MOPLL and siliconbased tuner front-tends.
    • Referenced to 4 MHz crystal or external clock.
    • Ultra-small, low profile 40-pin 5 x 5 QFN package.
  • Compatibility across transmission and performance standards for the Americas, Korea, Taiwan, and Japan.
    • Analog (NTSC, PAL M/N).
    • Digital (ATSC, ISDB-T).
