Aimed at industrial long-distance communication applications such as intelligent transportation systems, the ADAM-4542+ converts single-mode fiber-optic signals to RS232/422/485 serial signals. The ADAM-4542+ improves over its predecessor (ADAM-4542) by adding a redundancy feature. By providing fault detection on the main connection between two modules, communication can be automatically and seamlessly switched to a secondary connection. This improves reliability and can prevent costly troubleshooting on critical long-distance communication applications that are commonly used with fiber-optics.
