The new color-coded M2 Fiber Lab 800 fiber-optic cable management package is built for field simulation testing. Featuring a built-in handle, this polycarbonate case holds a single spool of fiber-optic cable. The device provides both ends terminated on the front panel with user-specified connectors and panel-mount adapters. The M2 Fiber Lab 800, which is designed to exactly simulate field applications and protect the cable, is available in clear, blue, yellow, orange, and green to identify the type of fiber spool that it contains. Engineers can choose 5, 10, 15, or 25 km of fiber or attenuations of 1,310 or 1,550 nm. The device is available with standard SMF-28E fiber or other single- or multi-mode fiber types and without cable. The M2 Fiber Lab 800 can be used in the development, manufacture, exhibition, and testing of fiber optic systems and networks. Pricing begins at $670 for models with 5-km single-mode fiber.
