7311Q is a new series of dual-rate voltage controlled crystal oscillators for communication systems requiring a dual rate frequency signal. These DR-VCXOs can be switched form their operating frequencies to the FEC (forward error correction) rate, enabling communication equipment to quickly correct for jitter and reestablish a consistent frequency. Previously this was done with two separate VCXOs. The 7311Q series delivers a 622.08 MHz/FEC rate (selectable) with a LVPECL complementary output signal.
Standard frequencies include 622.08/644.5313MHz, 622.08/666.5143MHz, and 622.08/669.3266MHz; other frequencies are available upon request. The 7311Q produces a low jitter pure frequency source, ideal for clock data recovery function in communication systems. They operate on a supply voltage of +3.3 Vdc while consuming only 130 mA typical. The 7311Q comes in a compact (17.0 x 9.6 mm), low profile (3.9 mm height) SMD 6 pin L-lead package. They operate over a wide temperature range of -10 to +70°C with an overall stability 䕖ppm maximum. Cost for the 7311Q in 100 piece quantities is about $65.00 each.
