DesignShare is a collaborative product data management solution. The new software is built to allow engineers to leverage the manufacturer’s digital design communication platform within a managed Microsoft SharePoint server-based environment. The software works to simplify visual product data-based communications within an enterprise. Design teams can use the software to manage visual product data, facilitating collaboration and communication internally and externally. A complete system for managing communications, DesignShare manages all relevant design documents, including 2D and 3D file formats. As a result, the software is said to help engineers increase productivity, save time and excess work, minimize errors, and improve communication. Engineers can use DesignShare to create a customized dashboard to manage collaboration processes requiring access to native CAD data as well as inspect and markup native CAD files. The software can also be used to centrally automate and monitor the conversion of native CAD files to .3D and manage and control 3D files created within the manufacturer’s SpinFire Professional and SpinFire for Microsoft Office programs.
