The SK2 safety coupling will disengage within 1 to 3 milliseconds when an overload is detected.



R+W America (Bensenville, IL) introduces the SK2 safety coupling developed for torque overload protection. Using a patented ball system that is backlash free, it will disengage within 1 to 3 milliseconds when an overload is detected. Features of the SK2 include:

  • Availability in 4 versions: single and multi-positions, load holding and free wheeling.
  • Adjustable torque.
  • Manufactured with stainless steel bellows.
  • Zero backlash.
  • A torque range of 0.2 to 1800 Nm.
  • Shaft sizes of 4 to 80mm.
