Constant Current Led Driver Ic

Constant Current LED Driver IC
The low dropout voltage of the A6260 allows a single white LED to be driven safely, at full current, with a supply voltage down to 6 V

The A6260 is a linear, programmable current regulator providing up to 350 mA for driving high-brightness LEDs.

Allegro introduces a new, high-brightness, adjustable constant current LED driver. Targeted at the automotive lighting market, Allegro’s A6260 is also applicable in industrial and consumer LED applications. Product features include:

  • An input voltage range from 6 to 40 V.
  • A linear constant current output that can be adjusted to deliver up to 350 mA.
  • An ENABLE input that is used to enable the LED drive — the LED drive can also be driven with a pulse-width-modulated input for dimming of the LED brightness.
  • The ability to enter into a low quiescent sleep mode if held low.
  • A thermal shut-down circuit (TSD), which disables the IC if the junction temperature reaches ~ 165°C.
  • Integrated reverse battery protection to eliminate the need for an external reverse battery diode.
  • A temperature monitor circuit that causes the output current to reduce in a fold-back fashion.
  • A fold-back that begins at a temperature threshold that can be adjusted by choosing an appropriate resistor on the THTH pin.
  • An 8-lead thermally enhanced SOIC package.
