The PowerMode HP “B” Series of connectors touts safety features such as touch-safe female housings, integral positive latches, cable strain relief, and ease of connector assembly. The connectors are rated over 350 A for appropriate applications and to 250 A at a 30°C temperature rise. They use the manufacturer’s Sterling contact technology, which is said to offer low electrical resistance and provide a minimum of 500 mating cycles. The technology is rated for circuit interruption (true hot-plug). The connectors accommodate wire sizes from 1/0 to 4/0 AWG and metric wires from 50 to 95 mm² and are IP20 rated (touch safe). The devices’ latching system uses blue buttons for simple identification and offers enhanced security and ergonomics. An integral coding key allows engineers to configure unique mating of up to six individual connectors. A cable strain relief kit, which encompasses all applicable wire sizes, is optional. Engineers can choose from ten connector housing types, including right angle, bus bar, panel-mount and blindmate/float selections.
