Compact Protection Thyristor

The new Teccor Q2L Series SIDACtor device is a compact protection thyristor designed for dense board telecom applications and customer premises equipment (CPE). The device features SIDACtor technology in a low-profile chip scale package to keep its footprint and height at a minimum. It is said to be 54 percent smaller in terms of PCB real estate and 51 percent smaller in height than DO-214AA solutions. Ideal for high board density applications, the Q2L provides bidirectional transient voltage protection and offers a range of Ipp ratings. These include 75 A for the 5 x 310/10 x 700 s event (ITU/YDT waveform), 80 A for 10 x 1,000 s event (GR 1089 waveform), and 100 A for 10 x 560 s event (TIA-968).
