The use of DMDs (Digital Mirror Devices) in modern industry is becoming more and more important. Applications like direct exposure systems, 3D-measuring devices or even 3D-printers use DMDs for pattern generation.
To image this pattern onto a target requires special lenses, which take into account the fact that DMDs need illumination from the top with so called TIR prisms. These prisms have a glass thickness which must be included in the optical design of the lens. This block of glass requires an extra-long back focal distance of the lenses. In addition the imaging lens should be telecentric on the DMD side to guarantee the best homogeneity on the target.
All of these parameters are considered in Sill Optics’ projection lenses for DMD. They cover a magnification range from 0.5x to 20x with very low distortion values. Version for UV LEDs or for white light applications are available. Bi-telecentric lenses complete the spectrum of this product range.
