Camshaft Gage

Built to provide three times higher accuracy and resolution than a laser micrometer, this new LED micrometer works in conjunction with the Model 1200 crankshaft and camshaft gage. The Model 1200 camshaft gage equipped with the new LED micrometer measures fillet undercut depth before and after rolling at a 35-degree roll angle, journal straightness, and radial distance of journal shoulder to journal. The device resists dust and dirt over a 40-mm focal range, and provides ۭ µm accuracy, ۫ m repeatability, and 0.25 m resolution with all outputs included in a standard summary report. The LED micrometer is available either as an add-on or as a retrofit package for the Model 1200. The micrometer is attached to the follower carriage, with the z-axis location known by the standard gage for start/stop measurement. The gage measures pin journal roundness, cylindricity, and straightness. Furthermore, it features a menu-driven sequence builder utility for developing measurement sequences for new crankshafts and camshafts. The LED micrometer is priced at $49,000. Pricing for the Model 1200 gage starts at $250,000.
