Providing a gas-tight wire-to-board termination that meets stringent automotive environment requirements, the new 1-position 9176 Series connector features dual beam contacts that support a 10 A current rating.

AVX Corporation (Greenville, SC) has expanded its 9176 Series wire-to-board connector family to offer design engineers more options when connecting discrete wires to a PCB in harsh environment applications. Providing a gas-tight wire-to-board termination that meets stringent automotive environment requirements, the new 1-position 9176 Series connector features:

  • A standalone surface mount discrete wire IDC connector.
  • An integral insulation strain relief system that allows a wide range of devices to be securely and reliably connected to a PCB without soldering.
  • UL approval.
  • Support of 18-24AWG wire termination where shock, vibration, elevated temperature, as well as temperature cycling are critical parameters.
  • Color-coding that provides assemblers with a quick visual reference.
  • An insulation diameter ranging from 1.1 to 2.1mm.
  • Dual beam contacts that support a 10 A current rating.
  • An optional locking strain relief cap that acts as a termination tool for severe vibration applications.
  • An operating temperature range of -40ºC to 125ºC.
