The SSM2517 Class D audio amplifier combines on a single chip an audio DAC, power amplifier and a PDM digital interface.



Analog Devices (ADI) (Norwood, MA) has announced the PDM (pulse density modulation) digital-input Class D audio amplifier for handset and other portable applications, such as portable media players and laptop computers. The SSM2517 Class D audio amplifier combines on a single chip an audio DAC (digital-to-analog converter), power amplifier and a PDM digital interface. Features include:

  • Filterless digital Class-D amplifier.
  • PDM digital input interface.
  • 2.5 W into 4 Ω and 1.4 W into 8 Ω at 5 V Supply @ 1 percent THD+N.
  • Available in 9-bump 1.5x1.5mm 0.5mm pitch WLCSP.
  • Efficiency 84 percent at full scale into 4 Ω.
  • SNR 98 dB, A-weighted typical.
  • THD <0.01 percent @ 1 kHz, 100 mW/Channel output.
