Adhesive For Bonding Ceramic To Metal

Cermabond 685N can bond ceramic gasketing rope to galvanized steel doors found in exhaust ductwork applications. The adhesive is formulated to bond at temperatures as high as 2,500°F. It is an easy to apply, fast-setting, thixotropic, water-dispersible paste. It contains no asbestos or volatile organic compound. Curing is accomplished by air drying for two to three hours and then heating gradually to the operating temperature of the assembly or by heating to 200°F for two to three hours. After curing, the adhesive exhibits a tensile-shear strength of 500 psi, a linear shrinkage of less than 2 percent, and chemical, moisture, and thermal shock resistance.
