RESOLUTE is capable of 27-bit resolution at 36, 000 rev/min and a resolution of 1 nanometer at up to 100 m/s for both linear and angle encoder apps.

Renishaw (Hoffman Estates, IL) introduces RESOLUTE, a single track absolute optical encoder system with dirt immunity. It is capable of 27-bit resolution at 36, 000 rev/min and a resolution of 1 nanometer at up to 100 m/s for both linear and angle encoder apps. Additional features include:

  • True absolute encoding.
  • Positional stability.
  • Linear and angle encoding options.
  • Optics that read fine pitch 30 µm scale with 1 w noise levels of jitter < 10nm RMS.
  • Sub-divisional error (SDE) of ± 40 nm.
  • Built-in separate and independent position checking algorithms.
