Ab Connectors Rebrands; Adds An ‘inter’

New name will make bidding and approvals easier for the company

AB Connectors Ltd, a leader in the design and manufacture of connectors, harnesses and box build systems for harsh environments, has re-branded its U.S. operations to AB Interconnect Inc.

The new name will make bidding and approvals easier for the company, which had been trading from Smithfield, NC as AB Automotive.

AB Interconnect will continue to manufacture the ABBMS Bayonet range of connectors, such as ABCIRH and AB05, plus SBORD 102C, which are used in the rail and military sectors. The company has recently had its VG 95234 approvals renewed for a further five years for the products, which are designed to meet the most stringent requirements.

AB Interconnect will also manufacture harnesses, both over moulded and heat shrink, plus electrical enclosures for the military and traction industries.

“The change in name gives customers a clearer reflection of what we do and demonstrates our position in the US connectors market,” says Steve Jones, sales and marketing manager at AB Interconnect. “The change will simplify things for our customer base and establish brand equity for AB Interconnect.”

AB Connectors strives to meet customer requests with feedback being used in the design process and it has considerably expanded its product range over recent years. Its connectors protect against adverse elements in temperature and humidity, as well as many other challenging environmental elements.

The company, which is part of TT Electronics Plc, is a player in the connectors market supplying from its manufacturing sites in the U.K., and its state of the art facility in Smithfield, NC. It has a global distribution network and capacity to supply to companies based anywhere in the world.
