This 5-mm panel light pipe, designated the PLP 5 Series, features a new lens geometry that is engineered to create improved lighting intensity for use with surface mounted or through-hole LEDs. The PLP 5 design enables designers to immediately locate PC boards directly behind panels with assurance of brighter, evenly lighted indicators. The new lens geometry at the base of the light pipe creates a concave collector to gather the full brightness and intensity of the LED in order to concentrate and forward it to the convex viewing surface for optimal light distribution and uniform appearance.
