The PolyZen ZEN059V130A24LS device helps provide complete circuit protection for electronics with USB ports.

Tyco Electronics (Menlo Park, CA) has introduced the PolyZen ZEN059V130A24LS device. The integrated device helps provide complete circuit protection for electronics with USB ports and meets Suspend Mode power-consumption requirements for USB 3.0. Features include:

  • An increased operating current that allows devices to consume (900 vs 500 mA in USB High power-absorption capabilities with low Vz (Zener voltage) and low power-consumption.
  • Thermal-protection architecture allows it to absorb high-energy pulses and effectively block overvoltage and reverse bias sources that could ultimately damage a stand-alone Zener diode.
  • A Vz below 6 volts.
  • A low 5 V power consumption meets USB 3.0 Suspend Mode requirements.
