47. Vector Performance Ac Motor

The PRM AC is a next generation inverter-duty, vector performance AC motor with a patent-pending laminated frame design. The unit uses finned frame construction to achieve high levels of power density. It also allows for more horsepower in a smaller package size, especially important in applications where space is limited. Because of the compact nature of the design, much lighter speeds are obtainable. Due to the low inertia design of the motor, it provides high dynamic response. The motor is suitable for replacing DC motors with AC technology. Typical applications include process lines for paper, converting, and metals; extruder uses; and hoists, conveyors, and traction applications. Because of its size, niche applications such as wind power generation are enhanced.
