45. Shallow Water Vessel

The M80 Stiletto is a vessel designed and built for use in the shallow or littoral waters. The vessel is intended for near-shore and riverine surveillance and combat missions. The Stiletto’s patented M-hull configuration captures the vessel’s bow wave and redirects this energy under the vessel, creating a cushion of air on which the boat rides. With a top speed of more than 50 knots and a draft of 2-1/2 ft, the Stiletto provides a smooth ride from inland waterways to the high seas. The M-hull makes the “hull speed limit” paradigm moot because it enables the craft to redefine what speeds can be accomplished in larger vessels, which cannot ride up on a plane like smaller craft. It also enables the Stiletto to ride in rough seas at high speed.
