3d Laser Scanner

Handheld 3D laser scanners were recently released in the form of the ScanWorks V5 sensor. Formulated for the most challenging reverse engineering and inspection tasks, this scanner delivers accuracy, speed and flexibility. The V5 can project a sensor’s field of view onto a target scanning area, so users can easily visualize the best scanning strategy. In addition, this product incorporates the same traceable high accuracy as the Scanworks V4i scanner of 24 microns (0.0009 in.) at 2 sigma. While the V5 is designed light and compact enough to facilitate measurement in even the hardest-to-reach areas, its dynamic range also enables accurate measurement readings on both highly reflective and dark surfaces — without needing prior surface treatments. This software is available with a new Microsoft Windows XP-style interface, intelligent sensor calibration, real-time point shading and improved automatic exposure control. An intelligent density management (IDM) system constantly monitors incoming data, and if the user wishes, dynamically limits scan data generation in low-interest areas to enable faster throughput. These handheld scanners can collect real-time data within third-party mass-point-cloud reverse engineering and inspection interface of the user's choice, thus removing timely file transfer issues.
