TOKYO, Dec. 4 (Kyodo) — Idemitsu Kosan Co. said Tuesday its South Korean subsidiary will soon begin manufacturing organic light-emitting diode materials for use in displays and lighting at a newly built plant near Seoul.

Full-fledged shipments of the products to be made at the plant in Paju run by the Japanese firm's wholly owned unit Idemitsu Electronic Materials Korea Co. are due to begin next spring with production capacity projected at about 10 tons a year.

The new plant, along with Idemitsu's domestic factory in Omaezaki, Shizuoka Prefecture, is expected to sell the products in markets including Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Europe.
