The Strak decelerator utilizes a burst of high-voltage pulses that are applied to the electrodes to obtain full control over a beam of hydroxyl radicals. This image relates to a paper that appeared in the Nov. 23, 2012, issue of Science, published by AAAS. The paper, by Moritz Kirste at Fritz-Haber-Institut der Max-Planck-Gesellschaft in Berlin, Germany, and colleagues was titled, "Quantum-State Resolved Bimolecular Collisions of Velocity-Controlled OH with NO Radicals."
