NEW DELHI - The Indian government on Thursday approved the signing of a memorandum of understanding to export rare earth minerals to Japan, Japanese and Indian government sources said.

One of the sources said the MOU could be signed between India's Department of Atomic Energy and the Japanese government during Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's state visit to Japan next week.
