3rd International Conference On Advanced Design & Manufacture

Nottingham, UK, 8th-10th September 2010

Conference History & EI/SCI Indexing

The 3rd International Conference on Advanced Design and Manufacturing (ADM2010) will take place in Nottingham, UK, 8th -10th September 2010. ADM2010 will follow the success of its previous 1st and 2nd conferences held in 2006 and 2009.

As prestigious conferences, the ADM2009 conference proceedings were published as volumes 419-420 of the refereed journal ‘Key Engineering Materials’ (http://www.scientific.net/KEM.419-420) which have been indexed by SCOPUS, EI Compendex and other major abstract media; the ADM2006 attracted about 600 abstracts, and about 190 high quality papers were finally selected for presentation at the conference, of which about 35 percent were chosen for post-conference publication in EI/SCI indexed and refereed international journals including International Journal of Production Research (Taylor & Francis), International Journal of Manufacturing Technology and Management (Inderscience), Lecture Notes of Computer Science (Springer), Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering (English edition) and International Journal of Design Engineering (Inderscience).

The forthcoming ADM2010 is anticipated to achieve a higher quality and attract more participants. All papers included in ADM2010 conference proceedings will be indexed in EI Compendex in the same way as that of ADM2009 and the papers presented at the conference will be offered the opportunity for submission to refereed international journals in the same way as that of ADM2006 (see Section 4 below for further details).

Conference Scope

The conference topics will be in the design and manufacturing engineering area, which will cover, but are not limited to:

  • Product/industrial/engineering design.
  • CAD/CAM/CAE.
  • Concurrent engineering, agile manufacturing, rapid prototyping.
  • Material science and engineering materials.
  • Manufacturing technologies, production, control.
  • Mechanical transmissions.
  • Engineering/product management.
  • Sustainable development, lifecycle assessment, Eco-design, Eco-manufacture and renewable energy.
  • Web/Internet technologies, Grid computing, Web-services, Mobile networking, Wireless computing, collaborative working environment.
  • Experimental and theoretical analyses, finite/boundary element methods, optimization.
  • Soft computing, artificial intelligence, evolutionary computing, agent computing.
  • Computer simulation, multimedia, virtual reality.
  • Creative industries.
  • Engineering education.
  • Other related areas.

Abstracts & Conference Papers

Potential authors are invited to submit abstracts of about 300 words to adm@ntu.ac.uk. The authors of accepted abstracts are entitled to submit full papers, which will be peer-reviewed, and the corresponding authors will be asked to make required changes and submit the final version of the papers.

Based on quality of the final paper submitted, a decision will then be made whether the paper is accepted or not. The papers should not have been previously published or be in a review process for publication elsewhere.

Conference Proceedings

The conference proceedings will be published in the periodical "Key Engineering Materials" (available in full text on the web via www.scientific.net one of the leading and largest online databases in its field), with a separate book (with ISBN), and online edition for the conference participants.

The periodical is indexed by SCOPUS, EI Compendex and all major abstract media (please visit http://www.ttp.net/1013-9826.html for further information. Papers will not be included in the Proceedings unless conference fees have been paid.

ADM2010 papers will be offered opportunities for post-conference publications in SCI/EI indexed and refereed international journals, subject to extensive revision and paper quality.

About Nottingham

The conference will be held at the Nottingham Conference Centre, which is a part of the Nottingham Trent University and is located at Nottingham city centre.

Nottingham is a city and unitary authority in the East Midlands. It is located in the ceremonial county of Nottinghamshire, England, and is one of only eight members of the English Core Cities Group in the UK.

Nottingham receives around 300,000 overseas visitors each year. Many visitors are attracted by Nottingham's nightlife and shops, by its history, and by the legend of Robin Hood, visiting Sherwood Forest and Nottingham Castle. Popular history-based tourist attractions in central Nottingham include the Castle, City of Caves, Lace Market, The Galleries of Justice, and the City's ancient pubs.
