Atlanta, GA— The National Electronic Distributors Association (NEDA) announces the restructure of its long standing components roundtable, a group representing member distributors and suppliers formed in the 1980’s to address industry issues.
Through a non-competitive, collaborative effort, the council works to recognize common, global problems and issues within the electronics industry, then formally organize committees to address them and provide direction, guidance and benefit to everyone in the supply chain.
“Our goal with the restructuring of this NEDA group is to provide better value to the NEDA member companies and to our industry as a whole,” according to Melanie Pizzey, a vice president of TTI, Inc.

“If we have the right people on the council addressing the most important industry issues and directing the individual working committees, this will enable NEDA to provide significant value to suppliers, distributors and ultimately our collective customers.”
The new council group is responsible for identifying industry issues, assigning them to committees, managing the committee activities, publishing industry deliverables, and beginning the process of global networking. The council is comprised of 10 distributor representatives and 10 supplier representatives.
The meeting was attended by representatives from: Allied Electronics, Arrow Electronics, Avnet, Bourns, Carlton-Bates, Digi-Key, Future Electronics, Infineon Technologies, Mouser Electronics, Phoenix Contact, Sager Electronics, Texas Instruments, TTI, Tyco Electronics and Vishay.
Don Elario, Director of Quality for Arrow Electronics, Inc. adds that “the NEDA components council has generated a fresh, new outlook with distributors and suppliers. In addition, the newly occupied council seats are individuals with a broad understanding of our industry and are already working to prioritize committee resources and begin delivering benefits to everyone in the supply chain. It's all about the end customer and our ability to provide industry best practices for common business process issues."
