Motoman Robotics has introduced the MA3100 “Master Arc” welding robot, which features the longest robot arm designed for arc welding.

The MA3100 is available in wall- or ceiling-mounted configurations, and can be used in multiple robot layouts. The extended reach are reduces the need for tracks.

Motorman Robotics has incorporated its next-generation DX100 controller into the MA3100, which features multiple robot control technology to handle multiple tasks and control up to eight robots, I/O devices, and communication protocols.

Using Sigma-5 motor control technology and new ARM (Advanced Motion Control), the MA3100 can reduce welding cycle time.

It has a 3 kg payload, 3,121 mm horizontal reach; 5,615 mm vertical reach; and ±0.15 mm repeatability. Integrated through-the-arm cabling eliminates cable interference while simplifying programming and reducing cable wear.

The MA3100 also includes PC architecture with a Windows CE programming pendant and color touch screen. It also includes faster processing speeds for smoother interpolation, advanced robot arm motion, built-in collision avoidance, quicker I/O response and accelerated Ethernet communication.
