CSA Group Appoints Ash Sahi As President, CEO

Toronto, October 26, 2009 – The Board of Directors of CSA Group today officially announces the appointment of Ash Sahi to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of Canadian Standards Association (CSA Group), a global provider of standards solutions, testing and certification services and consumer product evaluations.

Mr. Sahi succeeds CSA Group President and CEO, Robert M. Griffin, who will retire from CSA Group after 11 years of service.

As President and CEO, Mr. Sahi will be responsible for providing leadership and direction for the global company with offices, testing laboratories and affiliates in more than 60 countries worldwide.

CSA Group employs more than 1,400 people serving approximately 35,000 customers and has over 9,000 volunteer members that serve on various committees for standards development.

Sahi started his career at DuPont Canada and managed a number of global businesses for the firm over the past 25 years in the capacity of General Manager and CEO.

During his tenure, he worked in Business Development, R&D and was involved in mergers and acquisitions internationally. His last role was CEO of DuPont Liquid Packaging Systems operating in Europe, Asia and North America.

Sahi has also held senior level positions in the Federal Government as a Special Advisor Privy Council and Director of Industry and Trade. In 2004 he assumed the position of President and CEO of Hartmann North America. Hartmann is a publicly listed firm on the Copenhagen Exchange. Sahi is also Chairman of a prepared foods company, Chef Bombay.

Sahi graduated from McGill University in Chemical Engineering, has an MBA from the University of Toronto and is a Chartered Director from McMaster University.
