Among other products, he has been instrumental in the design of a deployable Intel-based, liquid-cooled GPGPU compute system and various breakthrough XMC graphics and video capture cards.

Prior to joining Quantum3D, Mr. Commike worked with Gauda, Inc., a startup focused on the design and implementation of novel clustered GPGPU algorithms.

Previous to that, he spent more than a decade at SGI Inc., culminating his career there as a principal engineer, where he was responsible for high performance visualization, including OpenGL engineering, 3D graphics performance tuning,

GPGPU coding, and HPC.  He has also served as a consultant to and as Director of Engineering for QED Labs, where he was the architect for the foundations of their computational biology products.

Quantum3D’s Chief Executive Officer, Michael D’Addio, praised the experience and leadership that Mr. Commike has brought to his organization:

“Alan’s contributions to Quantum3D over the past two years have been profound.  He has led the development of some of our most important embedded computing platforms, and both his software and hardware knowledge are pertinent to our company’s entire product line.  Alan will play a critical role in setting the course for future technology and products at Quantum3D.”

Alan holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in computer science from the University at Buffalo and holds a patent related to his work in high performance visualization.
