A 50 percent higher load capacity, a 200 percent increase in moment load capacity and a 1,000 percent improvement in moment load stiffness — compared to the standard PDU2.
A rigid but lightweight aluminum slotted profile with a toothed belt drive and carriage effectively encloses the unit

Pittsburg, CA — March 9, 2010 — Bishop-Wisecarver announces the availability of the new HepcoMotion PDU2M Profile Belt Driven Unit, a high capacity version of the PDU2. The PDU2M features:

  • A carriage that contains 4 extra rollers on each side in order to withstand increased moment forces.
  • Suitability in demanding single-axis systems and multi-axis applications.
  • A 50 percent higher load capacity, a 200 percent increase in moment load capacity and a 1,000 percent improvement in moment load stiffness — compared to the standard PDU2.
  • The ability to specify a single PDU2M unit as a horizontal axis in an X-Z system.
  • A rigid but lightweight aluminum slotted profile with a toothed belt drive and carriage which effectively encloses the unit.
  • A rating for operating speeds up to 6m/s, loads up to 750 N.
  • A 20AT3 belt that allows for driving forces up to 280 N.
  • Left, right or double drive shafts that can be specified together with a range of options such as brakes, positioning encoders and mechanical or inductive limit switches.
  • Internal bumpers that provide end of stroke protection at both ends.
  • HepcoMotion Herculane wheels that are mounted on adjustable eccentric studs.
  • Wheels that run virtually friction-free on the inside of the profile, providing stable support for the carriage plate.
  • Felt wipers that sweep debris from the wheel path.
