Avnet Electronics Marketing Awarded By KEMET

PHOENIX -- July 30, 2009 -- The Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas business region of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT) has received the KEMET Charged Sales Growth Award for the second consecutive year.

 

The award recognizes Avnet for achieving the highest sales growth for KEMET products in the Americas for KEMET’s fiscal 2009 ending in March.

KEMET’s surface-mount and through-hole capacitor technologies can be found in many computer, telecommunication, automotive, military/aerospace, medical, industrial/instrumentation applications, and have been part of the Apollo moon landing, the Patriot missile, and the Mir and International Space Stations.

KEMET capacitors were also present in both the Pathfinder probe and the Sojourner rover during their historic exploration of Mars.

“KEMET is delighted to present Avnet with our Sales Growth Award for FY 2009 – the second consecutive year they have received this award,” said Jim Bruorton, vice president global distribution sales for KEMET. “In what has been a very difficult and challenging market for our industry, Avnet grew sales in our products and customer penetration numbers improved.
