
Toyota Motor Corp. says it is recalling some 50,000 Prius cars to change the software for the anti-lock brake system.
The company said Tuesday it has received reports of problems with brakes during slow and steady breaking on bumpy or slick road surfaces when the system is ued.
It says it will take some 40 minutes to change the software at authorized Toyota dealers.
Toyota says there have been no accidents linked to this issue reported in Europe. The recall only affects the third-generation Prius. It is recalling some 437,000 Prius and other hybrid vehicles worldwide.
